Biography: K. Madhava Sarma was formerly the Executive Secretary, Secretariat for the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer and the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete Ozone Layer (Ozone Secretariat) from 1991 to 2000 at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). After his retirement, he is serving as a member of the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel. He is a consultant on ozone and climate issues. Prior to his tenure at the United Nations, he served as a senior civil servant in the Ministry of Environment of India.
